“I have been involved in digital marketing industry of India for more than 17 years and spoken in more than 150 national and international conferences in 20 plus countries. DMAi is a unique conference – I have rarely seen this level of industry participation in a conference. Almost all the chair persons are CMOs’ of large organizations. The structure of content and speakers is not decided by the organizers, but it is organized by the representatives of the industry.I have been closely associated in educating the industry on digital since more than 15 years. DMAi allows me to sit with my peers in planning both the content and the speakers without any pressure of taking the sponsor as speakers. I love supporting DMAi as it is one of the most transparent organizations I have worked with.I believe that data is going to be key metric for all decision making. Earlier technologies did not exist that could either store or process data to create sound insights – today they do – I believe that the next decade is going to be going to be the age of data.We are creating more data in a day that what was created in decades earlier – I believe that marketers who can master the ability to gain insights from data will get a competitive advantage over everyone else.There is a quote that I will never forget ‘everything that can be counted do not count – while lots of things that can’t be counted count’ – my role is make sure that the speakers are able to educate the audience on how to gain actionable insights and gain a competitive advantage.Let me give an example – I believe that Google is the closest man has come to creating a mind reading machine – every time a search is performed a mind is being read – so database of intentions – social media is the database of actions – one generally shares what actions one has taken or planning to take – so today the marketer has access to what the world is thinking and what the world is doing – imagine the power and actionable insights he can gain from these two simple data points – our role as the conference chair is to ensure that speakers share hundreds of such insights”

“I am greatly excited to be involved in the DMAi and GMAW 2015. In this, as in the years gone by, the CEO, COO and highly-enthusiastic team at the DMAi have done the industry proud by their inspirational dedication to the cause of data-driven marketing and advertising in this country. They have persuaded a large number of India’s finest marketing minds to contribute to the planning and execution of this annual event. This has always resulted in an absolutely exceptional quality of learning and interaction for both participants and also, perhaps unsurprisingly, panelists and speakers. “I have been involved with DMAi right since its inception in 2012. At that time DMAi was a new organization with a huge potential and task to reach out, enrich and involve the vibrant Indian marketing and communication industry. My task was to support and find new pioneers who would build the direct, digital, communication fraternities in marketing and technology streams. In the last 3 years DMAi has evolved into an active organization that is sharing and learning in smart marketing which has contemporary solutions to the age old problems. The monthly meetings and the Annual Convention have reached out to many practicing professionals whose contribution is making a big difference to on the fly knowledge in recent business solutions. As co-chairman of the inaugural DMAi Convention we managed to get the DMAi off to a start and I am happy to see a ground swell of the movement towards learning and sharing. Speaker and subject content at the Convention has grown considerably and today it is an international marquee event. As Chair of Echo Awards DMAi my task has been to seed the Award in India as a global standard Award of considerable stature. What started as a modest participation of Indian agencies, marketing companies has now got the support of more companies. Hero MotoCorp, Leo Burnett, Dentsu, Contract, BC Webwise are some of the companies who have added to our growing list of participants. I am glad we have been able to include in the illustrious jury every year the services and time of leading practitioners from the industry like Ramesh Iyengar, Rakhshin Patel, Chhya Balachandran Aiyer, Dhunji Wadia, Anil Kakar, Nishad Ramchandran, Swamy among others. “Today, technology is so infused into the fabric of marketing and communication that it feels strange that not too long ago, this profession was largely untouched by this transformative phenomena of our times. Be it marketing automation, big data analytics, social media, mobility, programmatic advertising or new emerging technologies as wearables, 3 D printing etc. technology today enables marketers to deliver compelling experiences to their customers in a manner that is interactive, individualized and in real time. In this context, it is very appropriate that DMAi has decided to have a separate technology stream at the GMAW 2015. In this stream, our effort is to go both wide as well as deep in covering all aspects of this fascinating area. On one hand, we plan to cover the spectrum of technology dimensions in marketing – whether it is the use of technology in generating better insights, managing big data, connecting better with customers through marketing automation, to how new technologies are redefining industries – like mobile wallets and ibeacons are redefining retail to how marketers are using new emerging technologies like 3 D printing or wearables to reinvent customer experiences. Joining me in this journey are my stream co-hosts which include marketing technologists as Yateesh Srivatsava, Alokedeep Singh, Apurva Chamaria, Piyush Bhargava and Sunder Muthuraman. All of them bring to the table a unique understanding of marketing and technology which will ensure that the content across the three days of the technology stream is both enriching as well as engrossing.It is often said that technology is the fuel for creativity in a world that is increasingly digital.
